Gene Skaggs Killed in a Crash on January 30, 2022 in Washington County, Missouri

Gene E Skaggs of Mineral Point, MO was killed on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:20AM in Washington County, Missouri. Skaggs is a 28-year-old man.

FATALITY CRASH REPORT - VEHICLE 1 WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF MISSOURI ROUTE 8. DRIVER 1 EXECUTED A LEFT TURN AND ATTEMPTED TO TRAVEL UP A ROCK WALL. VEHICLE 1 ROLLED BACKWARDS AND OVERTURNED, PARTIALLY EJECTING PASSENGER 1. PASSENGER 1 FATALITY PRONOUNCED ON SCENE AT 0244 HOURS BY WASHINGTON COUNTY CORONER: STEVE HATFIELD. ASSISTED BY MSGT. D. F. ISRINGHAUSEN (1335) AND WASHINGTON COUNTY DEPUTIES.

Injuries

Skaggs's injuries were fatal. Skaggs was taken by Washington County Coroner to Washington County Morgue.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2021 Polaris Rzr driven by Bingham was total. It was removed by Towed To/By Elliott Motor Company Towing.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Tpr A D Pogue and McIu Team Sgt J M Weadon of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220049389 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
