Christy Wiegand Injured in a Crash on August 16, 2020 in Platte County, Missouri

CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLE #1 TRAVELLED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND STRUCK TWO DELINEATOR POSTS. AFTER IMPACT, DRIVER #1 OVERCORRECTED, CAUSING VEHICLE #1 TO TRAVEL OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. DRIVER #1 OVERCORRECTED AGAIN, CAUSING VEHICLE #1 TO TRAVEL OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD, DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND IMPACT TWO TREES.

Injuries

Wiegand's injuries were moderate. Wiegand was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Wiegand was total. It was removed by Towed By Express Tow.

Tpr M M Gallo Mejia of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200398427 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
