FATALITY REPORT - VEHICLE 1 WAS TRAVELING IN AN UNKNOWN LANE ON SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE 270. VEHICLE 2 WAS PARKED ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. VEHICLE 1 TRAVELED OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT AND THE FRONT OF VEHICLE 1 STRUCK THE REAR OF VEHICLE 2. FATAL 1 AND FATAL 2 PRONOUNCED BY EMS PERSONNEL AT 0148 HOURS ON 02062022. ASSISTED BY TPR. C.R. KNOX (946) AND SGT. T.M. BARTHELMASS (418).

Injuries

Chastain's injuries were fatal. Chastain was taken by St Louis County Medical Examiner to The St Louis County Morgue.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2020 Peterbilt Cascadia driven by Hassan was moderate. It was removed by Taken By/To Mcnamaras Towing. The damage to the 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Abbott was total. It was removed by Taken By/To Mcnamaras.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Msgt M G Autenrieth and McIu Sgt J D Cox of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220061393 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
