CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLE 1 WAS TRAVELLING EASTBOUND ON RT-NN. THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE 1 LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, CROSSED THE CENTER OF THE ROADWAY, AND BEGAN TO SKID. VEHICLE 1 TRAVELLED OFF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK THE GROUND WITH THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE. AS VEHICLE 1 APPROACHED RT-E THE VEHICLE WENT AIRBORNE, RETURNED TO THE ROADWAY, AND STRUCK RT-E WITH THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE 1 CROSSED THE CENTER OF THE ROADWAY, RAN OFF THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK THE GROUND WITH THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER. AFTER IMPACT, VEHICLE 1 OVERTURNED AND CAME TO REST ON ITS TOP, FACING SOUTHWEST. ASSISTED BY SGT T. B. ZIEGLER (1268) AND NODAWAY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.
Injuries
Poppa's injuries were serious. Poppa was taken by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care Of Maryville.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Poppa was total. It was removed by Towed By Kizer'S Tow Of Maryville.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Tpr A M Mapel of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220034758 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report.
