VEHICLES 1 AND 2 WERE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON ROUTE K NEAR SPANISH CLAIM ROAD. VEHICLE 1 WAS STOPPED IN THE RIGHT LANE, WHILE DRIVER 1 WAS OUT OF THE VEHICLE TENDING TO THE GARBAGE CANS. DRIVER 2 FAILED TO OBSERVE VEHICLE 1 STOPPED. DRIVER 2 SWERVED TO THE LEFT IN AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID STRIKING VEHICLE 1. THE FRONT RIGHT OF VEHICLE 2 STRUCK THE LEFT REAR OF VEHICLE 1.
Injuries
Brant's injuries were minor. Brant was taken by Missouri Baptist Hospital-Sullivan Ems to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2005 Mack Trash Truck driven by Kellar was minor. It was removed by Driven From Scene. The damage to the 1999 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Brant was extensive. It was removed by Towed To/By Big Boys Towing.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Tpr Z C Crumley of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 210226272 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
