LATE FATAL REPORT - VEHICLE 1 WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON INTERSTATE 270 IN LANE 1, VEHICLE 2 HAD COME TO REST BETWEEN LANES 1 AND 2 FROM BEING INVOLVED IN A PRIOR CRASH. VEHICLE 1 BEGAN TO ROTATE CLOCKWISE. THE LEFT REAR OF VEHICLE 1 STRUCK THE CONCRETE MEDIAN BARRIER (IMPACT 2), CAUSING TO ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE AND OVERTURN APPROXIMATELY TWO TIMES. VEHICLE 1 CAME TO REST IN LANES 1 AND 2, ON ITS ROOF. VEHICLE 2 WAS PUSHED TO THE RIGHT, COMING TO FINAL REST IN LANE 5, FACING NORTHEAST. DRIVER 2 WAS PRONOUNCED AT MERCY ST LOUIS BY DOCTOR TAPIA AT 1820 HOURS ON 10/23/2020. ASSISTED BY SGT. A. H. MICHAJLICZENKO (769), TPR. Z. T. MICKS (475), TPR. A. D. BAKER (151 ), S. W. WULSER (897), CPL. Z. S. WANG (1392) AND TPR.M. FRAZIER-HIRES (421).
Injuries
Heldt's injuries were minor. Heldt was taken by Kirkwood Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St Louis.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jennings was extensive. It was removed by Taken To/By Mcnamaras Towing. The damage to the 2015 Mercedes C300 driven by Amore ferreira was total. It was removed by Taken To/By Mcnamaras Towing.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Trooper E R Besserud of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200528711 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
