ACCIDENT OCCURRED AS VEH #1 AND VEH #2 WERE NORTHBOUND ON I-29. THE FRONT END OF VEH #1 STRUCK THE TOWED UNIT OF VEH #2. VEH #1 OVERTURNED INTO THE GRASS MEDIAN OF I-29 AND ALL OCCUPANTS OF VEH #1 WERE EJECTED. VEH #1 CAME TO REST ON ITS WHEELS FACING SOUTH IN THE MEDIAN. VEH #2 CAME TO A CONTROLLED STOP ON THE EAST SHOULDER OF NORTHBOUND I-29. ASSISTED BY MSGT M.P. QUILTY (1221), ATCHISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, AND ROCK PORT POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Injuries

Hansen's injuries were serious. Hansen was taken by Atchison-Holt Ambulance to Grape Community Hospital In Hamburg, Ia, Then.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2012 Hyundai Elantra driven by Fierras was total. It was removed by Towed By Double-M Towing Of Rock Port. The damage to the 2016 Peterbuilt driven by Haney was extensive. It was removed by Towed By Double-M Towing Of Rock Port.

Tpr T L Shupe of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200426560 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
