ACCIDENT OCCURRED AS VEH #1 WAS NORTHBOUND ON I-29. THE FRONT DRIVER'S STEER TIRE BLEW OUT AND VEH #1 TRAVELED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE NORTHBOUND LANES. VEH #1 CROSSED THE MEDIAN ONTO THE SOUTHBOUND LANES AND OVERTURNED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE SOUTHBOUND LANES. VEH #1 CAME TO REST ON ITS WHEELS FACING SOUTH OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. Injuries
Thomas's injuries were minor. Thomas was not taken to the hospital.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2016 Freightliner driven by Thomas was total. It was removed by Towed By Benefiel'S Of Hamburg, Ia.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Cpl S M Hux of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200424384 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
