CRASH OCCURRED AS VEH 1 AND VEH 2 WERE SOUTHBOUND ON I-29. VEH 2 WAS TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS AND BEGAN TO SKID. VEH 2 RAN OFF THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY STRIKING A GUARD RAIL. VEH 2 REENTERED THE ROADWAY, CROSSED THE CENTER AND VEH 1 STRUCK THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF VEH 2. VEH 2 CAME TO REST FACING NORTH IN THE PASSING LANE AND VEH 1 CAME TO REST FACING SOUTH ON THE WEST SHOULDER. ASSISTED BY LT. D.J. HEDRICK (60), SGT. R.A. SHERMAN (1136), CPL. J.D. MAUDLIN (805), TPR. P.M. LUTZ (614), TPR. V.F. SELSOR (860), BUCHANAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, BUCHANAN COUNTY EMS AND BUCHANAN COUNTY FIRE.

Injuries

Stains's injuries were minor. Stains was taken by Buchanan County Ems to Mosaic.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2017 Ford F250 driven by Banks was minor. It was removed by Towed By All Star. The damage to the 2010 Hyundai Sante Fe driven by Groce was total. It was removed by Towed By Sauter'S Tow.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Tpr J H Hirner of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200283150 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
