CRASH OCCURRED AS VEH 1 WAS ENTERING I-29 FROM US 36 EASTBOUND, AND VEH 2 AND 3 WERE TRAVELING NORTH ON I-29. VEH 2 WAS IN THE DRIVING LANE AND VEH 3 WAS IN THE PASSING LANE, OVERTAKING VEH 2. THE DRIVER OF VEH 1 LOST CONTROL ON THE FROST COVERED ROADWAY AS SHE WAS MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE. VEH 1 BECAME PERPENDICULAR IN THE ROADWAY FACING WEST. VEH 2 ATTEMPTED TO AVOID VEH 1 BY STEERING TO THE LEFT. VEH 2 AND BEGAN TO SKID. VEH 2 STRUCK VEH 1 WITH ITS FRONT, ON THE DRIVER BEDSIDE. VEH 1 ROTATED COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND STRUCK THE FRONT OF VEH 3. WITH ITS FRONT DRIVER SIDE CORNER. VEH 2'S TRAILER STRUCK VEH 3 ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND FORCED VEH 3 INTO THE BRIDGE RAIL. VEH 1 CAME TO REST FACING SOUTH ON THE GUARDRAIL, OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROAD. VEH 2 CAME TO REST IN THE PASSING LANE FACING NORTH. VEH 3 CAME TO REST IN BETWEEN THE BRIDGE RAIL AND VEH 2'S TRAILER. ASSISTED BY SGT. R.P. DUDECK (516) CPL. C.M. DOLLARD (504), CPL. D.R. REUTER (622), AND BUCHANAN COUNTY.
