VEHICLE 2 TRAVELLED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY INTO THE MEDIAN, STRUCK THE CABLE BARRIER, CROSSED THE MEDIAN, WHERE THE FRONT LEFT CORNER OF VEHICLE 2 CAME TO REST IN THE SOUTHBOUND PASSING LANE OF I-29, FACING WEST. THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE 1 WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT THE SCENE BY BUCHANAN COUNTY CORONER RICHARD SHELTON AT 0149 HOURS ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 9, 2022. NEXT OF KIN WAS NOTIFIED. ASSISTED BY SGT A. A. Injuries
Pawling's injuries were fatal. Pawling was taken by Meierhoffer to Meierhoffer Funeral Home.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2020 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Hill was extensive. It was removed by Towed By R & W. The damage to the 2019 Jeep Renegade driven by Pawling was total. It was removed by Towed By R & W.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Sgt R P Dudeck and Sgt H A Sears McIu Team of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220012412 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report.
