PEDESTRIAN #1 ENTERED THE ROADWAY FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE, ATTEMPTING TO CATCH THE DOG. DRIVER #1 OBSERVED PEDESTRIAN #1 AT THE LAST SECOND AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO VEHICLE #1. THE FRONT LEFT OF VEHICLE #1 STRUCK PEDESTRIAN #1. THE IMPACT CAUSED VEHICLE 1 TO TRAVEL OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. PEDESTRIAN 1 PRONOUNCED ON SCENE BY WARREN COUNTY AMBULANCE PERSONNEL AT 2142 HOURS . ASSISTED BY TPR W. H. ABEL (132), WARRENTON PD AND WRIGHT CITY PD.
Injuries
Courtway's injuries were fatal. Courtway was taken by Martin Funeral Home to Martin Funeral Home.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2015 Honda Civic driven by Emerick was moderate. It was removed by Towed By/To Approved Towing.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Cpl D J Duffie and McIu Sgt J D Cox of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 220009236 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
