Shawn Nichols Injured in a Crash on December 22, 2021 in Marion County, Missouri

Shawn T Nichols of Hannibal, MO was injured on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 8:30PM in Marion County, Missouri. Nichols is a 54-year-old man.

The crash happened here: US 61 at Route F 2 miles south of Palmyra.

VEHICLE 1 FAILED NEGOTIATE A CURVE, TRAVELED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, BECAME AIRBORNE STRUCK A DITCH AND SEVERAL PARKED UTILITY TRAILERS. ASSISTED BY MARION COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, PALMYRA POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PALMYRA FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Injuries

Nichols's injuries were minor. Nichols was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital In Quincy.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2019 Ford F-250 driven by Nichols was moderate. It was removed by Towed By Heartland Towing In Hannibal.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Msgt Behrens of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 210665291 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
