Randi Nielson Injured in a Crash on December 30, 2021 in Nodaway County, Missouri

CRASH OCCURRED AS VEH 1 AND VEH 2 WERE EASTBOUND ON US 136. VEH 3 WAS TRAVELLING WESTBOUND ON US 136. DVR OF VEH 2 SLOWED TO TURN ONTO PLEASANT VIEW RD. DVR OF VEH 1 FAILED TO SLOW DOWN AND STRUCK VEH 2 IN THE REAR AND BECAME ATTACHED. AFTER IMPACT WHILE STILL ATTACHED, VEH 1 AND 2 CROSSED THE CENTER OF THE ROADWAY AND VEH 2 STRUCK VEH 3 IN THE REAR DVR SIDE TIRE. AFTER IMPACT VEH 3 ROTATED COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND CAME TO REST ON THE WESTBOUND SHOULDER FACING SOUTHEAST. VEH 1 AND VEH 2 DETACHED AFTER IMPACT. VEH 2 CAME TO REST ON WESTBOUND SHOULDER FACING SOUTHWEST. VEH 1 CONTINUED EASTBOUND AND TRAVELLED OFF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. VEH 1 RETURNED TO THE ROADWAY AND RAN OFF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND CAME TO REST IN PRIVATE DRIVE FACING SOUTHEAST. ASSISTED BY CONSERVATION AGENT K SMITH (CC367) AND NODAWAY COUNTY.

Injuries

Nielson's injuries were serious. Nielson was taken by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic Maryville.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2014 Subaru Crosstrek driven by Nielson was total. It was removed by Towed By Kizers. The damage to the 2010 Ford Explorer driven by Henry was total. It was removed by Towed By Kizers. The damage to the 2004 Ford F150 driven by Hagaman was moderate. It was removed by Towed By Shells Of Maryville.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Tpr A M Mapel of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 210677075 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
