CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLES 2 AND 3 WERE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, SOUTHBOUND US-59 AT MO-116. VEHICLE 1 STRUCK THE REAR OF VEHICLE 2. THE FRONT OF VEHICLE 2 STRUCK THE REAR OF VEHICLE 3. VEHICLE 2 RAN OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, TRAVELLED DOWN AN EMBANKMENT, AND CAME TO REST ON ITS WHEELS FACING SOUTHWEST. VEHICLE 1 SLID ACROSS THE CENTER LINE AND CAME TO REST ON ITS WHEELS FACING SOUTHEAST AT THE INTERSECTION OF US-59 AND MO-116. VEHICLE 3 WAS DRIVEN TO A CONTROLLED STOP ON THE WEST SHOULDER OF US-59. ASSISTED BY SGT S. M. HUX (536), CPL J. D. MAUDLIN (805), BUCHANAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, AND RUSHVILLE FIRE.
Injuries
Mestagh's injuries were minor. Mestagh was taken by Buchanan County Ems to Mosaic Life Care Of Saint Joseph.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2006 Lexus 400H driven by Spencer was total. It was removed by Towed By Blue Knight. The damage to the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Arb was total. It was removed by Towed By Blue Knight. The damage to the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Smith was minor. It was removed by Driven From Scene.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Tpr M A Gach of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 210516602 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
