Gregg Widner Killed in a Crash on November 06, 2020 in Mercer County, Missouri

FATALITY CRASH - NEXT OF KIN NOTIFIED - CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLE 1 AND VEHICLE 2 WERE BOTH EASTBOUND ON US 136. VEHICLE 2 ATTEMPTED TO PASS VEHICLE 1 AND STRUCK A BRIDGE RAIL. VEHICLE 2 WENT UP ONTO THE BRIDGE RAIL, CROSSED THE ROADWAY AND TRAVELLED OFF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND OVERTURNED. VEHICLE 1 CAME TO REST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROADWAY AND VEHICLE 2 CAME TO REST ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE OFF OF THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. DRIVER 2 WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT 1427 HOURS BY THE MERCER COUNTY CORONER DOUG PRIEST. ASSISTED BY SGT. A.A. HENRY (187), CPL. D.E. REUTER (622), TPR. J.E. HAINEY (775), TPR. A.D. NEIGHBORS (1393), AND THE MERCER COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.

Injuries

Widner's injuries were fatal. Widner was taken by Mercer County Ems to Roberson Funeral Home In Princeton.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2008 Case Combine driven by Wells was total. It was removed by Towed By Young'S To Their Lot In Eagleville. The damage to the 1992 Ford Grain Truck driven by Widner was extensive. It was removed by Towed By Young'S To Their Lot In Eagleville.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Tpr K J Cool and McIu Sgt J M Toal of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200555655 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
