CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLE1 WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND AND VEHICLE2 WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON OLEANDER AVENUE. THE BACK END OF VEH2'S TOWED UNIT TRAVELED INTO VEH1'S LANE CAUSING VEH1 TO SLOW AND BEGIN TO SKID. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF VEH1 THEN STRUCK THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE OF VEH2'S TOWED UNIT. VEH1 CAME TO REST FACING NORTH WHILE VEH2 CAME TO REST FACING SOUTH. ASSISTED BY BLACKWATER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND SALINE COUNTY EMS.
Injuries
Hughes's injuries were moderate. Hughes was taken to Transported To University Hospital, Columbia.
Vehicle Damage
The police said the damage to the 2002 Toyota Corolla driven by Ricklin was moderate. It was removed by Towed By Carls Towing. The damage to the 2007 International Harvester 991 driven by Craighead was minor. It was removed by Driven From Scene.
How To Get the Highway Patrol Report
Tpr J A Crewse of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200491159 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
