Christopher Claypool Killed in a Crash on February 27, 2020 in Phelps County, Missouri

Christopher N Claypool of Rolla, Missouri was killed on Thursday, February 27th 2020 at 11:39 am in Phelps County, Missouri. Claypool is a 20-year-old man.

***LATE DEATH*** NEXT OF KIN NOTIFIED*** THE CRASH OCCURRED AS VEHICLE 1 [THE 1997 FORD EXPLORER DRIVEN BY MICHAEL BRIGHT] TRAVELLED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, OVERTURNED AND STRUCK A UTILITY POLE. TWO OCCUPANTS WERE EJECTED. ON MARCH 1, 2020 AT 0900 HOURS, OCCUPANT CLAYPOOL WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED BY DR. NINGSEI AT THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IN COLUMBIA. THIS IS TROOP I'S FIRST FATAL FOR MARCH AND THE FIFTH FATAL FOR THE YEAR.

Claypool's injuries were fatal. Claypool was taken to University of Missouri - Columbia.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 1997 Ford Explorer driven by Michael Bright was total. It was removed by C C Towing.

Corporal J D Fariole of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200108590 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $5.75 for each certified report (certification required for court). But you can call 877-925-1969 to request a free copy of the report. The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted or blacked out.
