Tevis's injuries were moderate. Tevis was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center.

The police said the damage to the 2002 Chevrolet S 10 driven by Damon Pemberton was total. It was removed by Rons. The damage to the 2002 Suzuki driven by Jesse Murphy was total. It was also removed by Rons.

The Missouri Highway Patrol Major Crash Investigation Unit (MCIU) responded to this crash. Each member of the MCIU is a certified crash reconstructionist. Courts consider them experts in traffic crash investigations.
