Clay S Wheeler of Quincy, MO was killed on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:35AM in Cedar County, Missouri. Wheeler is a 55-year-old man.

FATALITY CRASH - THIS IS TROOP D'S 16TH FATALITY FOR 2023 - CRASH OCCURRED AT VEHICLE #1 TRAVELED OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, STRUCK A FENCE AND TREE, THEN OVERTURNED. AS VEHICLE #1 OVERTURNED DRIVER #1 WAS EJECTED. PRONOUNCED AT 0404 HOURS BY JAMES ROSCOE, MD AT CEDAR COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. NEXT OF KIN NOTIFIED.

Injuries

Wheeler's injuries were fatal. Wheeler was taken by Ambulance to Cedar County Memorial Hospital.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 1986 Ford 150 driven by Wheeler was total. It was removed by Towed By C & H Towing.

Tpr M D Obert of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 230146460 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
