Gary L Sexton of Liberty, MO was killed on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 5:40PM in Mercer County, Missouri. Sexton is a 64-year-old man.

FATALITY CRASH: NEXT OF KIN NOTIFIED. PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT 1745 HOURS AT THE SCENE BY MERCER COUNTY CORONER DOUG PRIEST. CRASH OCCURRED AS VEH #1 WAS TRAVELLING NORTHBOUND AND VEH #2 WAS TRAVELLING SOUTHBOUND ON US-65. VEH #1 WAS TRAVELLING WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS AND CROSSED OVER THE CENTER LINE INTO THE SOUTHBOUND LANE. VEH #1 STRUCK THE DRIVER?S SIDE OF VEH #2 AND ITS TOWED UNIT (VEH #3). VEH #2 TRAVELLED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF US-65 AND OVERTURNED. VEH #1 CAME TO REST IN THE SOUTHBOUND LANE FACING NORTH ON ITS WHEELS. VEH #2 CAME TO REST OFF THE WEST SIDE OF US-65 ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE FACING SOUTH. ASSISTED BY SGT J.J. RONGEY (689), SGT A.A. HENRY (187), SGT R.A. WOOD (788), TPR J.C. ACREE (121), TPR J.E. HAINEY (775), TPR R.K. STEARNS (844), CVO R.E. POWELL (W129), MERCER COUNTY SO, MERCER COUNTY AMBULANCE, AND MERCER COUNTY FIRE & RESCUE.

Injuries

Sexton's injuries were fatal. Sexton was taken by Mercer County Coroner to Bethany For Jackson County Medical Examiner.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2013 Ford F250 driven by Sexton was total. It was removed by Towed By Gabrielson'S Truck Repair - Chillicothe. The damage to the 2005 Born Free driven by Hall was total. It was removed by Towed By Gabrielson'S Truck Repair - Chillicothe. The damage to the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by No driver was total. It was removed by Gabrielson'S Truck Repair.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Cpl D R Reuter of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 210595069 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
