CRASH OCCURRED AS VEH 1 WAS NORTHBOUND ON US-71. VEH 1'S TIRE POPPED, AND THE HOOD CAME UP. VEH 1 CROSSED THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY, CROSSED THE MEDIAN AND DROVE INTO SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC. VEH 1 THEN TRAVELED OFF THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND STRUCK A MAILBOX, TWO FENCES, AND A UTILITY POLE. VEH 1 THEN OVERTURNED COMING TO REST ON ITS PASSENGER SIDE FACING WEST. ASSISTED BY SGT. T.B. ZIEGLER (1268), TPR. J.D. FARMER (390), TPR. L.T. MCDANIEL (630), AND ANDREW COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.

Injuries

Degase's injuries were minor. Degase was taken by Andrew County Ems to Mosaic In Maryville.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2000 Mack Truck driven by Degase was total. It was removed by Towed By Kizer'S.

How To Get the Highway Patrol Report

Cpl J D Maudlin of the Missouri State Highway Patrol wrote up the report. The highway patrol assigned report number 200321038 to this crash. The highway patrol charges $6.90 for each certified report (certification required for court). The highway patrol is currently backlogged and they state on their website that you will have to wait 10 days and may have to wait an "extended period of time" beyond that for the report. Further, unless you qualify under the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the report you get will have important and necessary information such as photographs, social security numbers, driver license numbers, names, addresses and telephone numbers redacted (blacked out).
