Fears's injuries were fatal. Fears was taken by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Med Center, Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Vehicle Damage

The police said the damage to the 2006 Mercury Mountainer driven by Helen Fears was moderate. It was not towed from the scene. The damage to the 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Dylan Bettes was total. It was towed from the crash scene by Towed by Hill's Motors and Metals Ellington, Mo.
